I the Politician....

Projected image is an inverted reflection,
words of promises-an act of extrapolation.

thoughts in the mind are nothing but void,
an idle place where some evil resides.

My acts that should makes you realise
to quit this state is the right auspice

I plan to diversify corruption
I'll ammend the constitution

Such acts now will be ordained
thy fundamental rights will be maimed

for long my evil shall reign
until its passed onto my bairns

the kingdoms neither lost nor gone
cuz the nation is now ruled by my spawn.

Quotas in private sector...

I becoming incresingly sick of this quotas. 49% quotas in education and now this !!!!!
What is government trying to do here. On one side the politicains are filling up their coffers by privatising every other thing that comes their way and on the other, they want to reach "amicably" to a "formula" for quotas in private owned entities. We have seen what has happened to almost all the state owned entities, they are either bankrupt or running in huge debts (this is not entirely becuase of quotas though)

I don't understand one simple thing that why dosen't Government allot quotas on the basis of financial standing of people rather than on castes ???
A point raised by government was that most of the people from backward classes are broke and the only way they can be uplifted socially and economically is by bringing quotas.

From 67% people [that is the lump sum number of percentage of people from backward classes in Maharashtra - (courtsey - Outlook Express)] let us assume that 40% are financially backward and off the rest 33% (upper class people) 10% are financially backward - presuming on a wrong notion that upper class people are not broke!

I say let there be quotas not 49% but 60%, but on basis of financial status of applicants and let "PEOPLE" be uplifted socially and financially......

Quot(A)ble Quotes : My few points on the latest Reservations issue.

I saw two debates yesterday on CNN IBN with reference to the latest quota craze and some of the points raised by the Pro-Reservation Activists and my analysis is as follows :

1) Children of Backward classes have to walk hours together to reach the Schools !!!!!!

Why do they have to walk so much to reach the Schools ????Why aren't Gram Panchayats/municipalities/State Governments building schools in every village ???Where is the 2 % education cess levied on service taxes going then ????

2) 80 % - 85 % of Indians are form Backward classes and they should get reservations!!!!!!!

What about the 40 % - 50 % Indians who are illiterate ????Why nobody is thinking of helping them at the grass root levels.....Just by giving away food/milk and biscuits in school won't help, if the esteemed incompetent teachers of these numerous municipality schools don't come to schools and "teach" for a change.

3) The government is ready to increase the amount of seats !!!!

When you increase the number of seats by 27 % (percentage of quota to be increased is 27%), the volume of the class gets bigger and less amount of individual attention every student would get from their respective professors.....Which means that not only open quota students but also those from the backward classes would suffer due to this, thereby degrading the standards of higher education.

My solutions to this entire issue are :

1) There are numerous international schools that have sprung up in the last couple of years who impart CBSE/ICSE standard quality education at a very high price.
Instead of putting more money in municipally schools, which are completely ineffective - Govt. Should give subsidies to such institutions on a promise/agreement to cater to children from socially/economically backward classes in the radius of min. 15 Km of the school.

2) Uplift the standards of the syllabi of B.Ed, for I have seen the kind of teachers our school's B.Ed program was churning out and it was appalling.

3) The pioneers of the secular cause should check into all the Govt. Forms -Isn't being a Hindu/Indian enough for them ???They are the main culprits by writing castes/sub-castes on every other form, dividing people. This system should immediately go and people irrespective of castes/sub-castes should be treated alike. 50 % off the private funds allotted to MLAs/M.Ps for development should be utilized in developing & providing adequate infrastructure to below poverty/socially backward people, and there should be complete transparency as to how the funds were spent.Help from N.G.Os can also be taken in this for E.G. Rotary Foundation, Lions Clubs etc. Who can generate funds and are themselves established successfull people from whatever strata of society they come from; help from such organizations can also be taken w.r.t voluntary teaching exercises etc.

4) Instead of giving the down trodden, Rs.500.00 & country liquor before the election day, politicians should really come up with innovative ways in which the socially/economically backward strata of society is uplifted. Two ways to do this -a) More & More importance to be given on education.b) More & More importance to be given on curbing population.i.e. empowering these people with knowledge as to consequences of lack of education and increase in population on them.

5) To get into almost all courses you need to give entrance exams these day .......The system of marks and percentages should go away for 11th std. & 12th std.instead grading/credit system should come and by means of more projects/assignments (case studies/experiments) every student's fundamental understanding of the subject should be boosted thereby automatically generating competition and seat allocation based on merits.
Let me tell you a simple fact, If the foundation is not strong, the building does not stand for long.
This attitude of earlier Government and this Government is not right -
Just like disinvesting is not the answer, Reservations is not the answer - the long term ill effects would be very damaging.

Last but not the least - What real amendment we need to the constitution is that people above the age of 70 should neither be allowed to contest elections nor should they be in any office where they will have to make decisions because dotage becomes a major deterrent in taking prudent decisions.

Shot at, by younger brother!!!

I do not understand why the electronic & print media is making so much hulla boo w.r.t Mr.Pramod Mahajan's shooting ???

I mean in rajasthan, U.P, Bihar, Maharashtra & almost all other states of India, property/money feuds are quite common.

Sons/daughters torturing/mentally harassing their parents over money is also not an alien concept in our so called "culutred soceity".

Just becuase a person earns lots of money or is a celebrity and is always in news does not mean that he is not capable of bickering over the one important thing they have in abundance - M.O.N.E.Y.

Therefore, higher the amount of money involved, nastier the feud. (remember mafatlals / Bajajs / Ambanis ??? )

Now, from this can i come to the conclusion that since Pravin mahajan put 4 bullets at close range in his elder brother's body, all the while his babhi was a spectator to all this; The amount of money involved must have been something which I cannot fathom.
